Chemical Peel Risk and Complication Information

Chemical Peels - Risks & Complications

Things to Know

Risks Associated With A Chemical Peel

Although a chemical peel is generally a safe procedure there are a few risks. The deeper the peel you choose the greater the risks. It is possible for your skin to become scarred or infected, yet not likely. A phenol peel should be a concern if you have heart disease. It can also cause uneven skin tone as well as pigment changes, especially in people with darker skin.
