How much do chin implants cost? - The price of chin augmentation

According to surveys done by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the average plastic surgeon's fee for chin augmentation was between $1,600 and $1,850 in 2002. The plastic surgeon's fee does not include the cost of the chin implant itself, nor does it include the surgical facility's cost or the cost of anesthesia.  Prescription medication, such as antibiotics and pain medicine are also an additional cost to consider.

When comparing chin augmentation costs between different plastic surgeons, use a "total cost" figure that includes the surgeon's fee, chin implant cost, operating facility charges, and any other anticipated costs.

Does insurance cover chin implant surgery?

In the case of chin augmentation for cosmetic reasons, you should not expect your health insurance to cover any of the cost. If you are having reconstructive chin surgery due to illness of accident, your health insurance provider may cover some or all of the costs.
