Introduction to the facelift section

As you get older, a number of factors contribute to the aging of your face. Stress, sun and wind exposure, and even gravity conspire to leave you older-looking. Wrinkles form on your forehead, your brow line and around your eyes. They also form between the bottom of your nose and your mouth. Your formerly taught jaw begins to resemble the jowls of a dog. Folds of skin appear of your heretofore smooth neck.

A facelift can help address some of the effects of aging. During a facelift, your plastic surgeon removes excess fatty deposits, tightens the muscles that support your face, removes excess skin and redrapes the skin of your face. Quite often, the facelift surgery is performed along with other facial surgeries such as blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) or a browlift (forehead lift surgery).
