Does health insurance cover eyelid surgery?

Generally speaking, your health insurance will not cover the cost of any cosmetic plastic surgery. There are cases when sagging eyelids present a health and vision problem.  If you are one of those people, your insurance may cover eyelid surgery.  Depending on how your insurance is structured, you may need referrals, approvals and testing before your insurance company covers the procedure.

Most people undergo eyelid surgery because they want to look younger.  Odds are that "looking younger" won't be an approved reason for surgery in your health insurance carrier's eyes.
